Live Races

Real players, one start bell. Reserve a seat, be there when the countdown hits zero, and race the flock to the finish.

Live Typing Races: Type Against Real Players in Real Time

A live race is 10 real typists racing the same passage at the same moment — not bots, not a leaderboard from yesterday. Reserve a seat, watch the lobby fill up for the minute before the bell, then race the flock the instant the countdown hits zero. Results — WPM, accuracy, and finish time — are final the second you type the last character.

Prefer to build speed on your own first? Practice mode and solo Race (against AI birds and your own Ghost) are both free and don't require an account. Live races add the one thing those can't: a real person on the other end of the race.

A New Race Every 30 Minutes

Races run around the clock, every 15 minutes, in English and Punjabi. The lobby opens a minute before start — seats fill in first, and each seat shows the racer's own bird, so you can see exactly who you're up against before the bell.

10 Seats, 3-Minute Cap

Each race seats up to 10 racers. Every race is capped at 3 minutes, so a race never runs long even if someone steps away mid-passage — the room moves on and results lock in for everyone else.

Real Identity, Real Results

Live races require signing in — with a Google account, or a student code for a class — so your seat, your result, and your spot on the podium are actually yours, not a guest session that resets on refresh.

4 Free Races a Day

Every signed-in racer gets 4 live race entries per day, resetting daily — enough to catch a race at different points in your day without it turning into an all-day distraction.

Podium, Standings & Sharing

Finish and you'll see the top 3 on a podium plus the full field below, ranked by finish time for everyone who completed the passage — with WPM and accuracy tracked for every racer, finished or not. Share your result with one tap, or come back within 24 hours to pull up that same race's results again.

Just Want to Watch?

Didn't reserve a seat before the bell? You can still spectate a race already in progress and watch the lanes race live — typing itself is disabled until you're actually seated in a future race.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often do live typing races start?

A new race starts every 15 minutes, around the clock, in English and Punjabi. The lobby opens a minute before the bell so you can see who else has a seat before it starts.

Do I need an account to join a live race?

Yes. Live races require signing in with a Google account, or a student code if you're in a class — that's what makes your seat, result, and podium spot actually yours instead of a guest session.

How many people race at once?

Each race seats up to 10 racers. If a race is full, you can still spectate it live and jump into the next one 15 minutes later.

How long does a live race last?

Every race is capped at 3 minutes. If you finish the passage first, you go straight to results; the race ends for everyone once the cap is hit, even if a few racers are still typing.

Is there a limit on how many live races I can join per day?

Yes — 4 free entries per day, resetting daily. Solo Race and Practice mode are unlimited if you want to keep building speed between live races.

How is the winner decided?

Racers who finish the passage are ranked by finish time. WPM and accuracy are tracked for every racer, finished or not, and show on the podium and full standings.

What happens if I miss a race's results?

You can come back within 24 hours and reopen your last race's results from the "View my last race result" shortcut on the live races page.
