AIIMS CRE-5 English Typing Test — The Real Rules
Verified directly from AIIMS’s own Detailed Recruitment Advertisement (Notice No. 93/2026, dated 13.06.2026), Annexure-V "Scheme of Skill Test". This norm applies across every post in Group Code 3 (DEO/JAA/LDC/UDC) and Group Code 19 (Coding Clerk/Medical Record), at any AIIMS, ICMR or ESIC institute listed in the advertisement.

How Mistakes Are Counted
Mistake categories match SSC CHSL, but the speed formula is different and stricter — confirmed by the document’s own worked example ("3,000 − 1,000 = 2,000 ÷ 50 = 40 w.p.m.", 20 mistakes).
- Full mistake (1.0): omitted word, wrong word, extra word, spelling error
- Half mistake (0.5): spacing, punctuation, wrong capitalisation, paragraphing
Net WPM = (Gross words − 10 × Net mistakes) ÷ minutes, where Net mistakes = Full mistakes + (0.5 × Half mistakes) — each mistake costs 10 words, not 1, structurally the same as RRB NTPC’s formula (minus RRB’s 5% margin). This must clear 35.

- What does each mistake actually cost — is this the same as SSC?
- No — it’s stricter.
